Dining Hall

The Dining Hall is the beating heart of the College’s undergraduate community. As part of the undergraduate meal package, three meals a day are served seven days a week with fruit, tea, and coffee on offer for residents between meal times. Our Postgraduate residents also enjoy an evening meal each week, coming together as a whole community. We cater for individual dietary requirements including halal, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian./p>

The Principal, Deputy Principal, and College Dean all live on-site and are available to assist residents on a 24/7 basis and in the event of an emergency. The Principal hosts a range of community events and celebrations at The Lodge, such as ‘Luigi’s’ morning tea each Sunday and our annual Eid al Adha celebrations.

Postgraduate Village

The Postgraduate Village features a unique setting with six residential buildings accommodating up to 126 residents in a mixture of studio, two, three, and five-bedroom apartments. Postgraduate residents enjoy easy access to the National Botanical Gardens and everything on campus is a short walk or cycle away. Our postgraduate academic community is an inclusive environment with a strong culture of participation in sports, arts and social activities.

Situated on Ngunnawal Country, Burgmann College occupies a beautiful location on the ANU Campus right next to Sullivan’s Creek (Little Kambri Creek) and Lake Burley Griffin.

We are proud of the unique and distinctive residential experience Burgmann provides. A supported, vibrant and dynamic residential experience that equips young people with the self-knowledge, interpersonal and intellectual skills that will best serve them to excel academically and make their most valuable contribution to the world.

Burgmann is a community with no hierarchies of residential membership, and residents have a significant say in the running of the College through representation on Board and Council. The Burgmann Residents’ Association provides a voice for Burgmann residents in the running of the College through ongoing communication with the ‘live-in’ Principal, Deputy Principal, and College Dean. No other college in Australia brings 126 Postgraduate students together with its Undergraduate community of 258 residents.

As an affiliated College, Burgmann takes pride in our independence and commitment to partnering with the ANU to help residents make the most of their time at university and to build a strong platform for life beyond graduation.
